On August 28, 2026, the Ontario College of Pharmacists announced consultation on its draft Providing Pharmacy Services for Animals policy. The proposal is relevant to Ontario pharmacies dispensing or compounding veterinary prescriptions or selling veterinary medicines.
OCP links the draft to the forthcoming Veterinary Professionals Act, 2024 and an exemption supporting continued pharmacy services. The College is asking whether its proposed expectations are understandable, feasible and complete.
